My best mornings
consist of cuddles and
easing my way into the day
A deep breath in
A deep breath out That, in itself, a meditation
Slipping into silence
but different from the silence of sleep
I pass the sacred space I created
Pausing first - to flick on its light
to prepare its welcome of me
That, in itself, a meditation
Slowly I make my way
to pour a hot cup of coffee or tea
Open the blinds, letting light in
Pet the pup who waits patiently for me
That, in itself, a meditation
My Bible, my journal, my pen
The sacred space I have created welcomes me again
The being still and knowing
isn’t solely in the sitting
but in the pause
in the breath
in the acknowledging
that in Him we live, and move, and have our being (Acts 17:28)
That, in itself, a meditation
